The Parasitology postgraduate program from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais aims to form qualified masters and doctors to act in research and education.
The program is structured in five areas Protozoology, Helminthology, Entomology, Immunoparasitology and Parasitic and Infectious Diseases Epidemiology.
The Parasitology postgraduate program develops in an agile and effective system the formation of these resources using the interdisciplinary of modern approaches as Molecular Biology and Epidemiology, Biochemistry, Immunology and Bioinformatics, without abandoning the traditional aspects of Parasitology.
These aspects are still very important in the prevention and control of parasitic diseases in the our country, where there is parasites persistence as malaria parasites, geo-helminthiasis, reemergence of visceral leishmaniasis and dengue and emergency of new opportunities agents, as microsporidians.
